Referee on ice development at SEAPARC with Galen Brewer #3Sooke Minor Hockey Officiating Program needs you! We are seeking dedicated officials for the officiating program at Sooke Minor Hockey. You must be 12 years old minimum by December 31st of this year. We seek officials for all levels of play in minor hockey.
You will get training on a monthly basis with on-ice skills development; you will be mentored by the Referee in Chief and other experienced officials. You will get game evaluations to help you succeed as a referee in the game of hockey.If you have a love for the game and want to give back, or if you currently play hockey and want to make some extra cash while also improving your skating and fitness; why not give officiating the game of hockey a chance!

Prerequisites:
- If you are 18 years old or older you need to have a current Criminal Record Check completed; this can be done through a form on the BC Hockey website.
- You will need to complete the Hockey Canada Covid 19 Return to Sport online module again located at bchockey.net
- If you have never officiated before or it has been some time since you last officiated, you will need to complete the Hockey Canada Hockey University eCourse at hockeycanada.ca
- Take a clinic from the many online choices through bchockey.net to get you started. For brand new officials this will be an in-person course in November in a regional setting at Juan de Fuca Arena.
